2021-22 School Year Transportation Update
Due to a national shortage of school bus drivers, school bus service has been severely delayed. In Cincinnati, this issue is affecting both public and public charter schools, as Cincinnati Public Schools is seeking to fill a number of open positions. Currently, our yellow bus service is through Universal Transportation System (UTS). To speak to Cincinnati Public Schools Transportation Customer Service, call 513-363-7433, option #1 for vendor, and option #6 for UTS.
While we wait for additional students to receive bus routes, the parent pickup line with remain long. To alleviate the situation, we are beginning dismissal to parents at 3:15 P.M. instead of 3:25 P.M. We are doing our best to facilitate this at quickly and as safely as possible. Beginning on September 7, 2021, there will be cones blocking the driveway on the west side of the building. All cars will need to exit by driving through the parking lot, turning left on the alleyway, and then onto River Road.
Thank you for your help and continued patience!
Free bus transportation services are provided by your child’s School District of Residence based on the address on file with our school that matches your Proof of Residency documentation (provided each year during re-enrollment). Per district policy, eligibility for transportation services may be limited to a specific radius surrounding the location of the school.
Scroll down to read specific information for your District of Residence. If your District of Residence is different than what is listed below, please contact the ACCEL Schools Transportation Department to inquire if your student is eligible to receive another form of transportation service:

CINCINNATI PUBLIC SCHOOLS (CPS) DISTRICT
If your child resides within the Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) district, transportation eligibility is based on the distance from your child’s home residence to the school.
- K-8 Grade students must live 1-5 or more miles from campus to receive some form of transportation service.
- K-8 Grade students with a home residence calculated by Cincinnati Public Schools as 30+ minutes from campus are ineligible for yellow bus service and payment options (such as RTA).
NOTE: All students, both currently enrolled and new, must submit a Request for Transportation form (see below) in order to be eligible for transportation for the 2021-22 school year.
How to Apply for CPS Transportation Services:
- Register or re-enroll your student with the school office. At time of registration, complete a Request for Transportation form (RFT). The address on the form must match the address on file with the school and be verified by a Proof of Residence (POR) document that is less than 30 days old. Each student’s birth certificate must also be included with the application. Forms must be returned to by June 30, 2021, to avoid delays in transportation service.
- The school office will submit your request to Cincinnati Public Schools for processing. The district will verify residence before routing the student, and the student will receive a Notice of Eligibility Letter with routing information and service start date within 7-10 business days.
