Dear Riverside Academy Families,
We are pleased to provide your scholar with this complimentary long-sleeved uniform shirt! These were graciously donated by our friends across the street at Amazon. We are thankful for our partnership with Amazon and enjoy being able to pass the shirts along to our scholars. Shirts will be distributed on Monday.
Please enjoy this gift, and we look forward to a wonderful 2022!
Staff Shout Outs
Since the middle of November, Mr. Fahrmeier and with immense support from Mrs. Herzner have been teaching both kindergarten and first grade. Mr. Whisenhunt and Ms. Rashad have been performing an incredible tag-team effort teaching second and third graders. Students have been continuing to meet and exceed academic and behavior expectations. Thank you so much for all your efforts!
Welcome to the new addition to Mrs. Wechselman’s family, Brina Hannah! We look forward to Mrs. Wechselman’s return to Riverside and wish her and her family all the best.
Student of the Week
The Student of the Week is…
James Brown!
During the first week of the semester James Brown exercised self-control in reading class by raising his hand and making good choices in the hallway. He also was a great help to the substitute teacher on Thursday during the Science period. He also was vocal about his need for assistance, which is a mature quality to have.
Congratulations, James!

Classroom Updates
Ms. Jaimee Hebert – 5th Grade
jhebert@acariverside.com
Happy New Year! We jumped right back into things this past week in 5th grade. In ELA we began working on opinion writing and talking about similarities and differences in the topics we read about. In math we continued talking about multiplying fractions and we took a short cycle assessment on it. In social studies we have started to talk about the early civilizations of Latin America. In science we have continued talking about gravity and motion. We will begin our next unit on energy next week. Please make sure you are asking your student about homework and any papers that may have been sent home that day. If you have not been able to get on DOJO please let me know as I am posting pictures and messages daily.

New Year, new opportunities for growth ! For the first two weeks of the semester we are revisiting procedures we need to sharpen up on and working on the standards R.L.6.4, R.L.7.5 and R.L.8.5. Attendance on Friday’s is imperative to your student’s grades, because Friday is the day we submit the majority of the work for the week, and it’s the day we take assessments. If your student is not going to be present on Friday, they can still submit their assignments via the acariverside.com website, under the resources tab. Each class has had instructions on the steps to submit assignments. I can also send home step by step guidance on how to submit the assignments, that includes pictures of the given screens. If a family is having a difficult time submitting assignments, feel free to call (513-921-7777 EXT 4-0926) or email me. I will return the call or email during my planning period (2:00-2:50pm daily). I’m looking forward to academic excellence semester two!

I hope we all had a restful break and are ready to get at third quarter. Man time is flying. Speaking of time, time is valuable. So that being said please make sure your students are at school regularly. I know with Covid and weather coming things are hard but we all have to do our best to stay healthy and get to school. Make sure we wear our masks and hand sanitize or wash our hands regularly. On to the work at hand. 6th grade is winding down their latest module and we our doing graphing on coordinate planes. 7th grade has just started percentages, decimals, and fraction conversions. 8th grade is still working on linear equations. As always stay safe and healthy.
